Starting Small in 2013

Happy 2013! Are you starting some new goals or resolutions today? I have tried both of those. I haven’t been very successful at new years goals and resolutions for one simple reason. I have always tried to do too much at one time. What can I say? I like dreaming big. This year I am trying something different.

I am going to start small. Rinse and repeat.

I have a long list of new habits and goals, but I am not going to try to kick them all off on January 1 and burn myself out by week 3.

The other struggle I have with starting new habits is that I am a procrastinator and a perfectionist. So I always have a reason not to start. No reason is good enough anymore. I am going to focus more this year on doing instead of planning on doing.

This blog has been sporadic at best. That is not what I intended it to be. I hope to bring you more consistent content in 2013. Even if the perfectionist inside of me is afraid to publish because it isn’t perfect yet. So I hope you will hang in there with me through the not perfect content to get to a few valuable nuggets that may come out of this blog.

That is how I am kicking off 2013. Not with a bunch of resolutions that are difficult to start and keep all at one time. I am going to start small and work my way up.

What are you going to start or stop in 2013?

I have one thing for 2013. Cleaning up the extra junk in my life. Cut back on FB friends, blog consistently, be more definite in decisions.

Already have cleaned out the closets. :)

    Happy New Year friend!

That sounds awesome! I pray this works for you this year. And I guess if I am lucky, I will still get to be your FB friend. If not, Twitter is better anyway.
